Authors Jerry Potter and Fred Bost report in footnote #3 of their book Fatal Justice that "Unidentified yellow wax with an unidentified embedded hair in it was found on the hall wall (CID Exhibit F-60;...)." This is also displayed on a prominent Jeffrey MacDonald website, where it is described as "Waxy substance with hair imbedded [sic] in it..."
Exhibit F-60 is actually described by the Army CID as "Yellow matter from north hall wall." Examinations "did not reveal any data of significance or relevance." Further, examination of Exhibits F-60 "showed same to be a "small amount of hard yellow and white substance. No chemical tests were conducted on this substance." Neither wax nor hair was discovered in this exhibit.
